Fantastic pies - this is the original shop of the chain. Quality is the same as in the Leura one.
I've had to change my review for Bakehouse on Wentworth. Prices have gone way up, service quality has plummeted.The quality of the food and the coffee is always good, but the real problem is the staff and management. Totally inflexible and unable to accommodate even the most basic of requests. Don't sit inside in summer, as there is no air conditioning. But if you get there early, and manage to get a spot outside, it's a great place to sit in the shade of the large plane tree while you enjoy a pie and coffee/tea.As a side note, the EFTPOS machine here is pretty banged up and contactless payments are a bit hit and miss.
lovely pies but the service was quite disappointing! considering there were only two sandwiches left in the display and six of us, we asked if they could make new sandwiches - to which one staff member said yes, before another cut her off, frowned at us, and angrily said no. we ordered two bread roll salad sandwiches, and they mistakenly brought us out two plain bread rolls with butter. a waitress came over with a pie and said 'is this yours? I have no idea what's going on' . the custard tart tasted as though it had been sitting there for multiple days. however the vege pies were indeed quite nice, hence the two stars.
We went around 2:30 and there was a limited range of pies and drinks available, however the pies we chose were delicious! Unfortunately the customer service (or lack there of) really took the shine off the delicious pies, with the attendants very unhelpful and clearly not wanting to do any more then the bare minimum.
Great pastries and pies. Wonderful range of breads baked freshly every day. Service is excellent and friendly. The atmosphere is lovely.
