Grea escape nice lodging and scenery. Definitely coming back
Its not worth the money. Look around for a better hotel. The rooms are comfortable enough but in now way impressive in any way for the price you pay. Beds are relatively uncomfortable, the aircon clunks sporadically, and the bathroom door wouldnt shut properly as it was a little off its hinge.Ultimately it was the service that was the biggest disappointment.Upon check in we were told that breakfast was included, which was a pleasant surprise. I even clarified Really? I didnt think it was? The receptionist confirmed yes so we ate both mornings of our 2 night stay. On departure we learned my credit card had promptly been charged $70 without consent after check out for one day breakfast. I called and they said breakfast was included only on the 2nd morning and not the first! I protested but she was was terrible, looking for no explanation or assistance to help. It seemed totally normal that only one day breakfast would be included for a two night stay - She was making me out to be the idiot despite me telling her I was pretty darn sure it was her I spoke to on check in and she confirmed breakfast for TWO days. I feel that she had made the error and was trying her best to push it off.In this competitive market theres no excuse for poor service. I highly recommend looking elsewhere, we wont be returning.(And for the record, the breakfast was really ordinary, certainly not worth $35 a person for cold eggs and greasy bacon - go find an amazing local cafe)
Upon arrival everything looked great. It was very warm with the fireplace on. I called reception to ask what time breakfast would be served and was informed that this was not included in my stay. To clarify i paid $600 for 1 night. I was absolutely gobsmacked when i found out that breakfast wasn't included and they were not even trying to help me to sort out the problem. Honestly i would not bother booking here as it is not worth the money and you can find a really nice place that will offer you a free breakfast not charge you an arm and a leg. DO NOT BOOK.
We absolutely loved our stay at Parklands Country Garden & Lodges, and will definitely be back. The staff are superb, and a huge asset to this hotel. The rooms are beautiful and intimate. The hotel host called me on the way up to ask our estimated arrival so that they could turn on the fireplace for us, which was a delightful touch. The property is beautiful and very picturesque. If you visit, be sure to go for a walk around the lake, and take some photos, it's beautiful. The only downfall here is the breakfast, and lack of options. It's more of a 3 star breakfast. Everything else was really great though, including the spa.
Great little spot. Stayed a night here as a couple. The cottages are set in a nice acreage with beautiful trees. Colours looked great in autumn. You can wake up to autumn colours by your window with an in room fireplace too. Breakfast was good, not great and the Bed could be better. Overall good spot, rooms and would recommend if price is not an issue.
