The food was really lovely but the portions not so. We paid $80+ for 2 medium pizzas and the eggplant dish, and 2 softdrinks. No booze or desserts. We left feeling hungry if Im being honest. The food itself was perfectly fine, but for $22 (I dont recall exact price but it was roughly this) for the eggplant main I would have liked a slightly more generous portion. I finished it in a few mouthfulls. The accompanying salad on the plate was bland and uninspired, and detracted from the dish. Some imagination with the salad would have been easy, or leave the effortless salad off altogether would be how Id approach. As an aside, the menus need urgent replacing. Ours were tattered and dirty, not what you want to see when you first sit down. I felt like washing my hands after holding them, they were that grubby. Replacing the menu printouts would cost a few dollars at best.Staff were friendly; nice people. There seems to be a lack of attention to some of the basics, per above. Weve been here many times over the years but Im sorry to say we probably wouldnt rush back. Our previous experience was similar but we wanted to give it another shot. Other people review this place positively, which I get, but if Im being hit for $80+ I expect more when eating out.
Would highly recommend this restaurant had the best pizzas ever if we werent leaving tomorrow for Perth would be back a flash to experience the best food ever. Lovely staff andwell priced,
Excellent food..great service..be warned apparently ALWAYS EXTREMELY BUSY.I definitely would visit again. Very fresh salad and generous toppings on the pizzas.
Loved it when I visited in the winter. Liked it less this summer, perhaps as I was sitting upstairs which was loud due to a big group nearby. The pizzas are a bit heavy on the dough vs toppings and the 10% weekend surcharge took me by surprise as it was a bit hidden on the website.
What a great find and pleasant surprise the Piedmont Inn was. I booked for 6 people (2 adults and 4 kids) for late on Saturday night because we drove into Blackheath late. The place is so cosy and warm on a cold night. Lovely friendly staff. The meals were so good. I had the pork belly and the crackling was perfect, but what impressed me most was that all the fat had been separated from it and just the tender melt in your mouth meat remained. So good. Pizzas are yum and pasta was also great. Oh, and the sticky date pudding and the apple cake was divine. We will definitely be back!!
